“We shook hands and traded stories on the Downers Grove patio, which had become the NewClub’s grillroom for the day. I soon left for the airport, but not before becoming a NewClub member myself. And unlike my other memberships, I could take this one anywhere. And I did.”

About the founders

  • Matt Considine is the founder and CEO of NewClub Golf Society.

A lifelong student of the golf industry, Matt played collegiate golf at The University of Akron, where he served as the men’s team captain.

He is also a decorated amateur golfer, qualifying for his first USGA Championship at Jupiter Hills Club in 2018. He also shares course records at two golf clubs in the Chicagoland area.

In addition to his competitive accolades, Matt serves on the First Tee of Greater Akron's Board of Trustees and the Executive Board of the Evans Scholar Foundation Leadership Council. He is also a member of The New Golf Club in St. Andrews and The Beverly Country Club in Chicago.

Prior to becoming an industry-changing entrepreneur at NewClub, Matt held multiple leadership positions in business development at large-venture companies such as Groupon and GoHealth.

At The University of Akron, Matt graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, International Business, and Marketing, and was the Ambassador to the International College.

  • Mark Colwell is the co-founder and president of NewClub Golf Society.

Mark began his career in 2006, spending almost 11 years at a technology company that would eventually become a billion-dollar, publicly traded company.

It was there Mark became surrounded by entrepreneurship building skills in technology, operations, and marketing.

Now with over six years in the golf industry, a member of The New Golf Club in St. Andrews, and a lifelong golfer, Mark aims to change how golfers experience and enjoy the game in the United States for generations to come.

Mark graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a degree in Advertising.

Mark is a board member for a local Chicago organization with the mission to connect leaders (with a focus on ethnic minorities and underrepresented groups), give back to the community through philanthropic and altruistic efforts, and create a new type of social club.
